[pptp-server] pptp Slow-down to nothing on RedHat 6.1

Folks,

Relatively new user -- have to admit this program is pretty slick.
Brought up pptpd on RedHat 6.2 box -- working fine. However, am
currently trying to configure on a RedHat 6.1 box -- can't get
performant. I can log into the tunnel, everything seems to work fine.
Then system slows down to nothing of the next minute or so. Any ideas?
