[pptp-server] Repost: connection closing because of select() error. please help

Anyone have an answer or reference for this?
I keep getting this error when i try to connect
pptpd[4734]: CTRL: Starting call (launching pppd, opening GRE)
pppd[4735]: pppd 2.3.10 started by root, uid 0
pppd[4735]: Using interface ppp1
pppd[4735]: Connect: ppp1 <--> /dev/pts/2
pptpd[4734]: CTRL: Error with select(), quitting
pptpd[4734]: CTRL: Client 4.35.114.34 control connection finished
pppd[4735]: Modem hangup
pppd[4735]: Connection terminated.
pppd[4735]: Exit.
here is my options file:
lock
modem
crtscts
asyncmap 20A0000
noipdefault
defaultroute
debug
user lcarpet
noauth
and the pptpd.conf file:
speed 115200
option /etc/ppp/options.vpn
debug
localip 192.168.0.200-230,192.168.0.1
remoteip 192.168.1.200-230,192.168.1.1
what could be wrong here? i couldn't find the answer to this problem
