A few issues with win98 vpn, I don't know that they cause the described
problem, but they may be valuable.
1) If the vpn adapter is installed via the network properties it will not
work correctly. It must be installed via windows setup under add/remove
programs.
2) There is a dial up networking patch for win98 available at:
http://support.microsoft.com/download/support/mslfiles/DUN40.EXE
<http://support.microsoft.com/download/support/mslfiles/DUN40.EXE> . I
don't recall what it is necessary for, but we install it on all our win98
remote users computers.
Thats all I can think of at the moment,

Hi Everybody, I have just installed the pptp on linux box and the daemon is
running fine. While I was testing it and configured a win98 machine to
connect to it using microsoft VPN adapter, as soon as I hit the connect
button the screen on the win98 goes black and stays that way till it is
rebooted. There are no entries in the log file pptpd.log.
Anyone knows what could be the causing it?
Thanks, Jandeep.
