Im having problems getting PPTP working. My other box has Poptop server running and it works flawlessly with windows. I can connect and do everything. But I cant connect to it via pptp client. I have setup an /etc/ppp/chap-secrets file with the account login/pass that it uses
/etc/ppp/chap-secrets
jean * jean *
and whenever I run "pptp myremotecompany.com debug"
that its what it says in the /var/log/message file
Jul 30 17:53:37 boris (unknown)[131]: log[pptp_dispatch_ctrl_packet:pptp_ctrl.c:
531]: Client connection established.
Jul 30 17:53:38 boris (unknown)[131]: log[pptp_dispatch_ctrl_packet:pptp_ctrl.c:
637]: Outgoing call established.
Jul 30 17:53:38 boris pppd[133]: pppd 2.3.11 started by root, uid 0
Jul 30 17:53:38 boris pppd[133]: Using interface ppp0
Jul 30 17:53:38 boris pppd[133]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttya1
Jul 30 17:53:41 boris pppd[133]: LCP terminated by peer (peer refused to authent
icate)
Jul 30 17:53:44 boris pppd[133]: Connection terminated.
Jul 30 17:53:45 boris pppd[133]: Exit.
Why does it say refused authenticate? I can use the login/pass on a windows pptp client and they work fine. any ideas?
