I've got the same problem for my mask of my subnet (255.255.255.0).
It seems that the client (W98SE) doesn't exploit the netmask line from
/etc/ppp/options. Or perhaps it is not send ?
The client force a mask accorded to the class of the address: for 155.132.1.54,
class B address, so it take 255.255.0.0 for the mask. Or it is inside a subnet
with a mask of 255.255.255.0, so something goes wrong.
