	What do you mean by "2 way remote access"?

	If you just need two MS-Windows computers to talk to one-another,
it would be much easier to use an application like LapLink2000, which
offers encrypted communication/file transfer and is much easier to set up.
Besides, I don't know if there even is a PPTP server for Windows9x.

	If you're talking about Linux boxes, then one would need the
PoPToP server, and one would need the PPTP client for Linux, and yes,
email would be one way to figure out what the IP address were.  AFAIK,
there is no automated way to do that yet, but it should be fairly easy to
write scripts to do that for you.
