[pptp-server] weird encryption problem

I am using a windows 2000 workstation to connect, there doesn't seem to be
any updates for win2k.

This is (probably)a problem with your MS VPN clients,
Microsoft has released a patch for this... now where is it?
either search the mailing list archive for it or the web,
i believe the name is vpnupd.exe.
This worked for me.

When I connect to a linux machine (2.2.17) running pptpd, without
encryption, it connects fine, and allows me access to the network. As soon
as I enable encryption, it connects fine, however wont allow me to ping
anything. here is the logs from syslog:

it appears to connect fine, but will not ping anything, any ideas or
suggestions greatly appreciated.
