[pptp-server] Could not determine local ip address

Has anyone came across this problem: "could not determine local ip address".  I'm running Linux Red Hat 7.1 with pptpd installed. I can authenticate with the poptop server then the connection is terminated.  If anyone else has seen or experienced this problem please help.
