Hi George,

I am somewhat new to the PPTP configuration and therefore I have been
passive listener to this list.
Therefore, this is more like some observation rather then explanation, since
that I got while trying to configure PPTP.

I am using kernel 2.4.10 with PoPTop 1.0.1 and for the pptp client I am
using 2.4.10 kernel with pptp linux client 1.0.2.
PPP on both machines is 2.4.0.
I am testing connection between machines simply on the Ethernet (where
machines are directly connected - in the same subnet).

My options files look like this (both machines)
    lock
    debug
    noauth
    proxyarp
    +chap

If I have such options files I get the same error as you did on my PPTPD (or
more precise PPPD).

However if I remove +chap line from both options files (both machines) I do
not get the error.

Regards
Dejan
