The FAQ has instructions, but it's written for an NT, not 2000
environment (http://www.vibrationresearch.com/pptpd/pptpd-FAQ.txt)
You may be stuck having to do hosts files.  

Samba would probably be the way to go.  Something like this in your
smb.conf file may do the trick:

   local master = yes
   browse list = yes
   remote announce = 192.168.0.255
