Enable "WINS" in your /etc/ppp/options file (assuming you're not using a
special options file, and assuming you have a WINS server on 192.168.1.8):
ms-wins 192.168.1.8

This should assign WINS for you.  You can duplicate for a secondary WINS
server by adding a second entry with the IP of the 2nd WINS system.  It
would be wise to also make sure a DNS with your windows machines is
available on your RFC1918 network as well.
