You wish to set up a VPN between you and a group of other hosts.  You
have a choice of using a central server, or run a VPN between each host.

If you use a central server, the traffic will be to and from that
server, and so you will have to pay for it through your housing
provider.  There would be one link between each host and the server,
regardless of the number of hosts.

If you use VPN links between each host, the tunnel will be user to
user.  There would be one link between each host and each other host. 
For two hosts, one link.  For three hosts, three links.  For four hosts,
six links.  As the number of hosts grows, the complexity increases.

You could still use the central server to help with temporarily
recording the IP address of each host.
