[pptp-server] Problems reading and writing to GRE and TTYs!

Hello,
   I have the following message in syslog and was wondering who would be
good enough to give me a hand with it:

I am using kernel 2.2.13, and (as it happens) ip masqing as well.  I have
ppp 2.3.10, but have not done any of the MS chap patches as of yet.  When
attempting to connect using Win98 Second Ed, I get ERROR 645, I have also
received error 629.  Who knows what these equate to? :)
