Yep, that's the only client software on the Win98 machine.
No NetBEUI, no IPX, and not the other one ("file and print sharing
for microsoft networks" or whatever).

The machine talks fine when its on the LAN on its PCMCIA ethernet
card (which I "stop" and remove before trying the AOL/PPP/VPN
connection).

I'll report back if/when I get things working Monday, I'm off
for the weekend...
