let me try and help.

This error means u setup PPPD wrong *not* PPTPD.. therefore it is a PPPD
problem you are having.

On the machine where PoPToP is going to run:
This is what you should have in /etc/ppp/options

debug
require-chap
name billybob #### it really doesn't matter.. so long as it matches in
chap-secrets
auth
proxyarp


In your /etc/ppp/chap-secrets

username	billybob	password	*


That is all you need!!


Now, if your PoPToP server machine is also connected to a private
network any connecting clients will have access to the private network.
