That is weird.  pptpctrl includes the local IP address in the command
it uses to launch pppd.  I do not know why that would fail.

Hm.  Try setting localip to a single IP address which is the true
address of your PPTP server on your local network.  (It is OK for all
of the PPP interfaces to share that local address.)

If that still fails, we can try hacking pptpctrl to print the actual
line it is using to launch pppd.
