[pptp-server] trouble patching ppp for mschapv2

Hi,

I'm following the directions at
http://www.moretonbay.com/vpn/releases/PoPToP-RedHat-HOWTO.txt,
and I'm confused about the command:

patch -p1 <<  ../ppp-2.3.10-openssl-norc4-mppe.patch

All it does is drop me to a > and waits.  Am I
supposed to enter something here?  It might be a
problem that I'm using ppp-2.3.11 and the patch is for
2.3.10, but I was betting on the minor versions not
being too different.  Am I wrong to assume this?  Any
help to get me past this part is much appreciated.
