Bruce,

This is a bug in the ppp_mppe.c module.  Apply the patch:
http://www.vibrationresearch.com/pptpd/ppp_mppe_compressed_data_fix.diff
to your /usr/src/linux/drivers/net/ppp_mppe.c file, rebuild and reinstall
the ppp_mppe module.
