That helps a lot in better understanding the hotplugging. Thank you.

On the pptpd side, the problem has been solved. It seems the RPM provided with
the Mandrake distribution is broken. Afetr downloading and compiling the
source, it worked the first time.

Again, I appreciate the information and support.
